Privacy Policy

What personal data we hold, why we hold it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Version 2026-08-30in effect from 30 August 2026we will tell you before a new version applies to your account

The basics

1.Who is responsible for your data

GoBrUk is the data controller for the personal data described here. If you have a question about it, or want to exercise any of the rights below, write to support@gobruk.com.

What we hold

2.What we collect

We collect only what a delivery actually requires:

  • account details — name, email, phone, password (stored only as a hash we cannot reverse), and for a business account the company name and registered address
  • delivery details — collection and delivery addresses, contact names and phone numbers, parcel description, notes to the rider
  • payment records — amounts, dates and the reference from our payment provider; we never see or store your card number
  • delivery evidence — timestamps and the photo taken at the door as proof of delivery
  • technical data — IP address and basic request logs, kept to keep the service secure

3.Recipients are people too

When you book, you give us the name, address and phone number of the person receiving the parcel. We use those details only to make that delivery and to send the tracking link. Please make sure you are entitled to share them with us.

Why, and who sees it

5.Who we share it with

Only those who need it to deliver the service: the rider assigned to your job (collection and delivery details), our payment provider (to take payment), our mapping provider (to calculate the route), and our email provider (to send you booking and account emails). Each acts under contract and may use the data only for that purpose.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.

6.Where it is stored

Your data is held on servers in the European Economic Area. Where a provider processes data outside the UK or EEA, that transfer is covered by safeguards approved for UK transfers.

7.How long we keep it

Account and delivery records are kept while your account is open and then for as long as the law requires us to keep financial records. Delivery photographs and tracking data are kept for a shorter period, long enough to resolve a dispute about that delivery. Request logs are kept briefly for security.

Our backups rotate on a 30-day cycle. If you ask us to delete data, a copy may remain in a backup for up to 30 days after the deletion; those backups are not used for anything else, and if one is ever restored the deletion is applied again.

Your rights

8.Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • correct anything inaccurate
  • delete data we no longer have a reason to keep
  • restrict or object to certain uses, including anything based on legitimate interests
  • provide your data in a portable format

9.Deleting your account

You can close your account yourself, from Settings — you do not need to ask us. We confirm it with your password and a code sent to your email. The account closes immediately and your personal data is erased 30 days later, which gives you time to change your mind: sign in before that date and choose to keep your account.

We cannot erase everything, and the reason is the law: we must keep financial records for six years, and we keep proof of delivery while a payment can still be disputed. What we keep is stripped of your name, your addresses and your phone number, so it can no longer be linked back to you.

You can download a copy of your data at any time, including during those 30 days.

10.Complaints

Tell us first at support@gobruk.com and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), the UK's data protection regulator.

The small print

11.Cookies

We use a single cookie to keep you signed in to your account. It is strictly necessary for the service to work, is not used for advertising, and is not shared with anyone. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

12.Changes to this policy

Each version carries a version number and a date. If we make a change that affects how we use your data, we will tell you before it takes effect.

Something here unclear? Ask us before you book — we would rather explain it now than argue about it later.
